A video that has gone viral on social networks shows the moment when a man, bound by hands and feet, is thrown into the sea. The individual has been identified as Reinaldo Fuentes Campos, also known in criminal circles as “Taliban.” He is linked to drug trafficking between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
The journalist Ramón Tolentino, from Noticia Telemicro, has revealed that the video was recorded in the Dominican Republic. According to Tolentino, the death of Fuentes Campos would be related to a conflict that arose as a result of a cocaine takedown of the Gulf Cartel.
Fuentes Campos, originally from Carúpano, a city in Sucre state, Venezuela, used multiple identities for its illegal operations. It is believed that he entered the Dominican Republic under the alias “Miguel Fulcar”, which shows his ability to move in the shadows and evade the authorities.
In addition, it has been reported that he had personal ties in the Monseñor Nouel province, specifically in Maimón, where he had a sentimental relationship with a renowned lawyer. It has also been mentioned that the tragic episode took place near Martinique, an island with which Fuentes Campos had connections for drug trafficking.
The National Police of the Dominican Republic has launched an investigation into the murder of Fuentes. On the other hand, the Navy Dominican Republic has issued a statement indicating that it has no information that the incident occurred in waters under its jurisdiction.
