The Volusia County Sheriff's Office has arrested the suspect in a Deltona stabbing Sunday afternoon.
It was initially reported as a shooting by deputies, but investigators later confirmed it was a stabbing.
It happened Sunday morning in the area of Courtland Boulevard and Glenridge Terrace in Deltona.
“Eventually, the helicopter came closer and closer and was circling over the top of our house, so I know he had to have been getting close," said Mike Eme, a resident of the area.
VCSO said one person was killed.
VCSO says Joseph McDonald, 31, is now in custody.
Deputies had been searching for McDonald, who was considered to be armed and dangerous. He was arrested roughly three miles away from the scene of the stabbing.
Investigators say the stabbing happened following an argument. The victim was 21-years-old.
A witness, who was also inside the house at the time, said McDonald became upset when he wasn't allowed to smoke marijuana with the would-be victim and witness.
The two went to McDonald's house to meet up with another friend who wasn't home at the time.
He is charged with first-degree murder.
