In a tragic episode in Quilmes, the Buenos Aires Police arrested two suspects related to the murder of Héctor Damián Costa, 49, who was shot in the chest by a criminal when he resisted an attempt to steal his motorcycle.
The crime occurred on Thursday, December 14, around 5:00 p.m. on the corner of Calchaquí Avenue and Jujuy Street, in the south of the Conurbano. Costa, an employee of a well-known restaurant in Puerto Madero, was intercepted by two armed criminals. The attack, captured by witnesses in a shocking video that went viral, shows Costa being knocked down and then shot in the chest as he tries to retrieve his motorcycle.
Costa was taken to the hospital in critical condition but unfortunately died shortly after 6 p.m. despite medical efforts.
The arrests were carried out in Villa Itatí de Quilmes after an exhaustive investigation led by prosecutor Jorge Saizar. Among those detained is Alexis Meza, 18, who refused to testify this Friday afternoon. The other person involved is a 14-year-old minor, with a history of motorcycle theft and identified as the alleged shooter.
