On a night that began as a celebration between brothers, ended in tragedy in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam. Nguyen Trong An, 38, killed his younger brother, Nguyen Ngoc A, 31, in the middle of a conflict during a drinking party.
The fatal incident occurred on March 13, when both brothers and some other people were sharing drinks at the family home in An Hoa 1 village. However, what began as a night of camaraderie soon turned violent, with a confrontation between the two brothers that led to a fight.
After a brief lull in the fighting, Nguyen Trong An returned to the house with two knives in his hands at around 9:22 p.m., triggering another confrontation. During the altercation, Trong An used one of the knives to seriously injure his younger brother in the neck, causing fatal injuries.
Following the attack, Trong An fled the scene, leaving his injured brother in the house. Despite the efforts of people present to save him, Nguyen Ngoc A. succumbed to his injuries at Binh Dinh Provincial General Hospital.
Nguyen Trong An later surrendered to local authorities at 1:00 am on March 14, confessing to his crime. He was officially detained by the Tuy Phuoc District Police Investigation Agency and has been remanded in custody while the murder investigation is underway.
