GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. - The Genesee County Prosecutor's Office has charged a 26-year-old caregiver for allegedly assaulting a woman with dementia on her 93rd birthday, and the incident was caught on video.
26-year-old Dontia Shawnra Arrington, a Flint Twp. woman has been charged with the following:
VULNERABLE ADULT ABUSE - 1ST DEGREE
TORTURE
ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO DO GREAT BODILY HARM LESS THAN MURDER
During a press conference held by Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson and Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton on Thursday, nanny cam footage was shown depicting the alleged assaults.
The video showed the caregiver hitting the 93-year-old woman with a used diaper and attempting to choke her, according to Sheriff Chris Swanson.
