Savitri Kumar, 32, from Uttara Kannada(India) had a heated argument with her husband, Ravi Kumar, 27, who repeatedly ordered her to 'throw the child away,' according to reports.
The boy was found on Sunday morning with bite marks all over and was missing a hand.
Police say that her husband questioned her decision to give birth to their son, Vinod, who was born deaf and mute.
During a fight about their eldest son on Saturday evening, Savitri was 'distressed' and reportedly threw Vinod into a waste canal flowing into the crocodile-infested Kali River.
'My husband is responsible. He used to keep saying let the son die and that all he does is eat. Let him be, I'd say. If my husband keeps saying that, how much torture can my son endure? Where will I go share my pain?' She reportedly told police.
