Dad Assaults A Ref During A Wrestling Match Between His Son And Another Boy

This occurred on Saturday, June 22nd, at an independent wrestling tournament in Concord, NC. The referee stopped the match due to the white singlet holding the red singlet’s lower leg and lifting it off the mat. After the whistle was blown, the white singlet continued to hold onto the lower leg and looked at the referee, not understanding why a stop was called. The referee told the white singlet to “let go of his leg,” the father screamed at the ref. The Father of the white singlet rushes in as the referee begins talking to his son, telling him when he blows the whistle he needs to stop.

The referee pressed charges that evening. The father was arrested where he lives in VA. He posted bond and was released under the condition that he turn himself in in NC. It appears that a week or so ago, he did not turn himself in in NC.
