A 7-Year-Old Child Is Severely Injured After An Elderly Man Who Was Not Supposed To Drive Runs Him Over In The Driveway

A 7-year-old boy suffered severe injuries and almost lost his leg after being run over while playing in his driveway.

Taurean Reign Denoto, 7, was hit and went face-first through the wall of his home in Hilo, Hawaii

'Everything was severed except for one artery,' his father, Ralph Hilton, told KITV.

'I had to put his foot in my pocket to carry him outside.'

He also suffered a major concussion but survived.

Doctors reattached his foot after being life-flighted to Queens Medical Center.

He has undergone eight surgeries, with no confirmation on whether he will be able to walk again.

'He's going to have extensive deformities for the rest of his life from this,' Alisha added.

'We're trying to keep his spirits up and keep him as active as we can so he doesn't lose muscle function and mobility in the rest of his body.'

The 71-year-old man had recently undergone hip surgery and was not supposed to drive.

He was arrested for negligent injury.
