Brazil- A woman was arrested for attempted murder after stabbing a man inside the Municipal Hospital of Quedas do Iguaçu, in Paraná. The attack, recorded by security cameras, took place on Wednesday.
The case began during an argument between the woman and the man when she stabbed him for the first time. Wounded, he managed to call for help and was taken to medical attention. However, the attacker took a motorcycle taxi and went to the hospital, where she carried out a second attack.
At the hospital, the man was on a stretcher being treated by rescuers when the woman entered and stabbed him more than 30 times with a knife. The attack lasted about 38 seconds, causing panic among those present. After the blows, the woman sat in a chair and waited for the police to arrive, still holding the knife.
In her testimony, the woman confessed to the crime and said that the attacks were motivated by disagreements with the victim. According to police chief Emanuel Almeida, the two had known each other for seven years and had agreed to share a house. However, the woman claimed that the man wanted to have sex with her against her will and control her cell phone, which led her to act in a moment of rage.
The court converted the woman's arrest into preventive detention. The case is still being investigated by the Civil Police. The victim, despite the seriousness of the attack, survived and was rescued again after the incident.
