The woman who was set on fire and burned to death on a New York City subway has been identified as 57-year-old Debrina Kawam from New Jersey.
57-year-old Debrina Kawam was set on fire on a subway near Coney Island on December 22.
Illegal Sebastian Zepeta, 33, allegedly used a lighter and his shirt to fan the flames.
Zepeta faces charges of murder and arson.
Kawam was identified through fingerprint data, dental records, and DNA evidence and was believed to be homeless.
She was originally from Tom’s River, New Jersey.
Kawam was reportedly sleeping on the subway car at the time of the attack.
