

Bangladesh- A video of a Hindu house being attacked and vandalized at Sakhipur in Tangail district has gone viral on social media based on a comment made on Facebook.
The man whose house was attacked and a member of the local Muslim community filed a counter-case on Sunday in connection with the Saturday night incident, police said.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tangail Sakhipur Police Station. Zakir Hossain told BBC Bangla, "Following a comment from a Hindu man's Facebook ID, the man lodged a complaint with the police station on Saturday night saying that his Facebook ID was hacked."Both parties are suing over the incident. We are investigating the incident," he added. According to the police, some local youth attacked the house of a man named Shankar Saha in the Barchana area of Sakhipur.
Some videos of the attack went viral on social media on Sunday. It shows a group of people vandalizing the furniture, tin fence, doors and windows of the house. Most of whom were young and young in age.
On Saturday afternoon, a private television channel in Bangladesh aired a news report live from the northern district of Nilphamari, claiming that a 'hand with a trident' had emerged from a century-old banyan tree in a union in the district.Tangail's incident started with a comment under the news on the private television's Facebook page.There were allegations of offensive comments about Muslims from the Facebook account of a person named Shankar Saha. Some people commented under that comment and complained of hurting religious sentiments. Local journalist Saiful Islam Sunny told BBC Bangla that the screenshot of the comment spread widely in the area. After that, tension builds up in no time.
