

LITHONIA, Ga — Several Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School students sparked a physical altercation with a teacher in the school’s hallway on Tuesday, April 22. Three students were charged with battery and disrupting public school.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing, according to a statement from DeKalb County School District. The teacher involved is on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation, due to district protocol.
A video that was shared on social media shows the violent encounter as a student throws a punch at what appears to be an older teacher in a suit. The teacher responds by throwing punches and several students get involved. The recorded portion of the fight ends when the teacher is pushed to the ground.
