

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Fulton County police officers shot and killed a man in Atlanta’s Adamsville neighborhood on Thursday afternoon, prompting a chaotic scene that drew several law enforcement agencies.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and Fulton County police, the county police department received a call about “suspicious persons” loitering at 3657 MLK Jr. Dr., which police described as a “known drug location.” When the officers arrived, several people started running — including 24-year-old Damario Smith.
Officers chased Smith back to his vehicle, where Smith allegedly pulled out a handgun. Fulton County police said three officers then shot at him.
Smith was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the GBI.
In a video posted by ATL Uncensored on Instagram, a man is seen running across Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and getting into a car.
The video shows two officers pointing their guns before shots ring out.
In the video, a third officer then appears, which corresponds with the Fulton County Police Department’s account of the incident. All three officers then shoot at the man.
