South Memphis- An 18-year-old was attacked around 6 p.m. by a group of teens at an apartment complex, reportedly over his dog allegedly trying to bite someone.
The victim’s pregnant girlfriend stated that three men were sent to their home by another individual before the assault began.
A viral video showed multiple teens kicking and punching the victim, who was curled up on the ground, while adults and others watched.
The victim’s girlfriend, wearing a green t-shirt, attempted to shield him but was pushed aside by attackers.
An adult male briefly intervened but failed to stop the violence; one attacker stomped on the victim’s back.
The victim was dragged from grass to pavement, where the beating continued until he suffered a seizure, causing most attackers to flee.
The man recording the video laughed and made a derogatory comment during the victim’s seizure.
The victim, who has a history of seizures, was hospitalized and released hours later.
Police and emergency services responded; officers had been called to the complex earlier that day regarding the same feud.
Memphis Police are investigating the viral video but have not yet identified the attackers.
Laura Sanders, the victim’s girlfriend’s grandmother, expressed helplessness due to her age and physical limitations.
