8 inmates are still at large, including 4 who are convicted of murder after they escaped through a hole behind a toilet from a jail cell in New Orleans.
Police have released footage of the men fleeing the scene.
After escaping through the hole, the inmates used blankets to scale over a barbed wire fence.
They then had a clear path to the railroad tracks and then the freeway.
“We have the indication that these detainees received assistance in their escape from inside our department,” said Sheriff Susan Hutson.
“It's almost impossible, not completely, but almost impossible for anybody to get out of this facility without help from the outside.”
Corey Boyd, Lenton Vanburen, Jermaine Donald and Derrick Groves are still missing. They are all convicted of 2nd degree murder.
