A woman sustained severe injuries after being stabbed approximately 150 times in the parking lot of Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon. The Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office in Lisbon stated that the crime was triggered when the victim expressed “disinterest in continuing” to communicate with the suspect, whom she met on the Tinder app.
The prosecutor’s office indicated in a statement released on Friday that “the events occurred on May 28, 2025, late in the afternoon, in the parking lot located at Estádio José Alvalade, in Lisbon.”
According to the statement, the suspect and the victim “met through the Tinder app” and “exchanged messages.” However, “when the victim expressed disinterest in maintaining contact with the accused, he began following her to and from her workplace and residence.”
On the day of the crime, the “accused lay in wait for the victim” and took a kitchen knife from his backpack when he saw the victim, inflicting “about 150 blows.” The victim suffered injuries to the “head, torso, face, and upper limbs.”
“Once on the ground, the victim continued to be assaulted by the accused, with kicks and blows to the head,” the prosecutor’s office explained.
After appearing for an initial judicial interrogation, indicted for attempted murder, the suspect was held in pre-trial detention.
On Wednesday, a source from the PSP told Lusa that a woman was seriously injured in Lisbon after being stabbed by a man, an incident that also resulted in another person being injured.
