Three people were injured , one critically, June 7 after a vehicle crashed into the Dollar Tree store at 28263 Lexus Drive in Milford’s Cypress Hill Shopping Center, Milford police said.
The accident occurred around 3:25 p.m. when a gold Hyundai Elantra being driven northbound in the Dollar Tree’s parking lot left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed into the storefront, police said. Upon impact, the vehicle struck a 97-year-old female patron within the store and came to a stop at the back of the establishment, authorities said.
Rescue personnel airlifted the 97-year-old woman to an area hospital, where she was listed in stable, but critical, condition.
Rescue workers also transported the Hyundai’s 44-year-old female driver to an area hospital for medical treatment. Investigators learned that another store patron, a 76-year-old woman, was injured by debris that fell as a result of the car’s crashing inside the store. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was treated and released.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact Patrolman D. Anderson at 302-422-8081.
