video captured the moment a man snatched an American flag away from the flames of a dumpster fire set by a mob of far-left anti-ICE protesters in Seattle, Washington, leading to a confrontation with the group.
Flags have become a symbol of the recent protests and riots over federal immigration raids, and the American flag was torn down and burned amid the unrest in Los Angeles, California. Protests have spread to other cities in the U.S., including Seattle.
The presence of Mexican and other national flags was seen by critics of the protests as evidence of loyalty to nations other than the U.S. But some protesters said they were just celebrating their immigrant heritage at a time when they feel under attack by the Trump administration.
In the footage from Seattle, a woman shouts "what are you here for, bro?" at the man saving the American flag, as the group tries to wrestle it back out of his hands. "F*** this country! F*** this country!" she says.
"We're burning that s***, bro?" she continues. "What the f*** are you here for, b***h?"
Another man shouts: "We're Mexican, motherf*****, we're burning that flag."
The man who saved the flag says "you ain't burning no flag".
The video was shot by Katie Daviscourt, a journalist for The Post Millennial, who was covering the unrest in Seattle.
