5 White Teens Charged With Hate Crimes After This Attack At A Simi Valley Movie Theatre Parking Lot
Five ‘teenagers’ charged with felony assault and hate crimes after allegedly attacking multiple people in a Simi Valley movie theater parking lot.
The incident happened shortly after midnight on Aug. 2 in the Regal Cinemas parking lot.
Authorities say the teens assaulted at least three victims.
Two of the teens are also charged in a separate altercation in the same lot on May 30.
The suspects are three 17-year-olds and two 16-year-olds. Their names have not been released because they are minors.
Four teens were arrested on Aug. 3, and a fifth suspect was identified later.
One teen is the son of a Simi Valley police officer, who is not involved in the investigation.
On Oct. 3, the district attorney’s office announced charges against all five juveniles:
Three teens face felony assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, with a special allegation of a hate crime.
One teen faces the same felony assault charge, plus misdemeanor criminal threats and misdemeanor battery.
The fifth teen faces misdemeanor criminal threats and misdemeanor battery.
