TikTok influencer ordered to pay $1.75M for destroying a marriage after she seduced and had an affair with another woman's husband.
Influencer Brenay Kennard, who has 3M followers on TikTok, was found liable for "criminal conversation and alienation of affection."
"She has received justice from losing her husband and the father of her children," said Robonetta Jones, the attorney for Akira Montague.
Akira Montague said the affair between Kennard and her husband, Tim Montague, caused mental anguish, health problems, and deprived her kids of having a two-parent household.
"North Carolina's alienation of affection law allows a spouse to sue the person they blame for an affair that ends a marriage," ABC 7 reported.
"North Carolina is one of the few states that allows jilted spouses to sue someone for interfering in their marriage."
