Floridian Anti-ICE Troublemaker Finds Out
24 days ago
An anti-ICE agitator in Florida got a brutal reality check after allegedly turning a political disagreement into a physical one — and discovering that punching a state trooper in the face rarely ends well.
According to authorities, Jennifer Cruz was arrested outside a Mexican grocery store after she allegedly exited her vehicle and struck a Florida state trooper who was assisting federal ICE agents. What followed was not a viral protest moment, but a rapid sequence of law-enforcement consequences: Cruz was slammed onto the hood of a patrol car, shoved into custody, and later tased.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded bluntly to the incident, making it clear the state would not tolerate attacks on officers.
“This is not Minneapolis,” DeSantis said — a pointed reference to jurisdictions perceived as being more lenient toward anti-police unrest.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier was even less diplomatic.
“Jennifer disagrees with immigration enforcement and decided to commit a few felonies by getting out of her car and punching a trooper in the face,” Uthmeier said.
That decision now comes with serious legal consequences. Cruz has been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting officers with violence, and threatening harm to officers — charges that can carry significant prison time if convicted.
