Florida Is Seeking The Death Penalty For The Man Who Stabbed His Girlfriend Over 100 Times Before Killing His 2-Year-Old Son And Feeding Him To An Alligator

Florida prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Thomas Mosley, the man accused of killing his girlfriend and his 2-year-old son in a case that has drawn national attention for its disturbing details.
Mosley has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder. Investigators say his girlfriend, Pashun Jeffrey, was found dead inside her apartment after being stabbed more than 100 times.
Her son, Taylen Mosley, was reported missing soon after. Days later, authorities confirmed that the toddler’s body was found in the mouth of an alligator in Lake Maggiore, a development that stunned even seasoned investigators.
Before the case could move forward, Mosley was previously ruled incompetent to stand trial. He spent several months receiving treatment at a state hospital before a judge later determined that he was competent to proceed. Prosecutors then formally moved forward with the case, ultimately announcing their intention to seek the death penalty.
The decision marks a major step in a case that has been closely watched as it works its way through Florida’s court system. Prosecutors have not yet outlined how they plan to pursue the penalty phase, and a trial date has not been announced.
Mosley remains in custody as the legal process continues.
