A disturbing dashcam video is fueling outrage after revealing that the driver behind a dangerous hit-and-run on a major U.S. highway was allegedly unlicensed, uninsured, and unable to speak English.
The incident, which took place in December 2025 on Interstate 71 in Columbus, shows a red sedan swerving erratically across multiple lanes of traffic, narrowly missing other vehicles before slamming into a black SUV and fleeing the scene.
The footage is chaotic.
Cars scramble to avoid the out-of-control vehicle as it cuts across lanes with no apparent awareness of the surrounding traffic. Moments later, impact. The SUV is struck, and the driver responsible simply speeds off, leaving behind a dangerous situation on a packed highway.
Authorities later identified the driver as a 54-year-old Somali woman who, according to reports, did not have a valid driver’s license or insurance at the time of the crash.
Even more alarming to many, reports indicate she did not speak English, raising serious questions about how she was able to operate a vehicle on a busy interstate in the first place.
For critics, this is where the story goes beyond a single crash.
They argue the situation highlights glaring gaps in oversight and enforcement, asking how someone without basic legal qualifications, and allegedly unable to communicate with authorities, was able to get behind the wheel and pose a risk to countless drivers.
