Footage from the southern city of Volgograd showed a fresh landslide on an embankment near the stadium, which made a several-metre-deep hole in it and covered a sidewalk with mud.
A spokesman for the state-owned company overseeing the construction said there were also leaks inside the stadium which could take up to a week to repair.
Volgograd Arena, a stadium that can accommodate up to 45,000 spectators, was built for the World Cup at a cost over 16 billion rubles ($257 million), according to data on the regional government's website.

Protesters blocked traffic and clashed with security forces in the Armenian capital of Yerevan Friday, as demonstrations against the appointment of former president Serzh Sargsyan as prime minister entered their eighth day.

Sargsyan was elected as prime minister by parliament on April 17 after previously serving as president from 2008 to early 2018.
Critics say his election is anti-democratic and have branded it a power grab.
Armenia held a constitutional referendum in 2015 which lessened the power of the president and gave greater power to the parliament.
The state-owned ArmenPress news agency said several roads in Yerevan were fully or partially closed due to Friday's protests.

Criminal investigators in Russia are probing an horrific video in which a student hurls a kitten into a scorching hot oven.
The torture came during a teenage party in Krasnoyarsk, a city in Siberia.
The black cat is thrown in the 375C oven by a man who has been identified as 18-year-old Kirill Beryozin as he and others laugh and joke, say police.
The sick abuse was filmed by an unknown male friend and posted on Beryozin's social media.
During the clip, the first voice - belonging to the person filming, is hearing saying: '375 degrees! Wh***!'
A second voice replies: 'Let's do it one more time!'
A third asks: 'What will happen to it?'
The first person says: 'I'm in hysterics. Shame, cat is not visible there!'
The third then says: 'Drag him out, whore! He f****** did not understand!'
'Look, cruel attitude to animals!' the second person says before the cat is hurled into the oven.
Over laughter, the first person says: 'Oh, that was tough! 375 degrees! You've broken his spine!'
The kitten's condition after the torture is unclear.
Later one of Beryozin's accounts was closed, the other deleted.
The student later changed his online family name to Kalashnikov, but then deleted this account, too.
Beryozin had been previously pictured online with his cat.
A spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee, which probes serious crimes, said: 'A video was posted on the internet where teenagers inKrasnoyarsk region are torturing a cat during a house party.
'They put it into a hot oven. At the moment the circumstances of this incident are being investigated.
'A decision will be made based on the results of these checks.'
Beryozin is a student attending the prestigious Krasnoyarsk College of Radio Electronics and Information Technology.
The video sparked a furious backlash on social media.
'These young people are absolutely mad, as if they are not human…,' said one shocked viewer.
'He is obviously enjoying it, he gets excited when he is hurting the cat,' complained another. 'Tricks with a human being will be the next in his chain of entertainments…'

Yakub Dalgatov was filmed putting what appeared to be an almost fully grown lion into the back of his car and leaving a window open for the big cat to look out.
The lion, named Gaydar, was clearly unwilling to get into the car but Mr Dalgatov forced it onto the back seat and closed the door behind it.
