This is the terrifying moment loud gunshots are heard as armed police shot a man armed with a knife at a busy airport.
Video shows four military police officers moving towards a Starbucks in an empty terminal after the alarm was raised at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.
Authorities cleared the terminal although they are now reporting that the situation is safe.
According to De Telegraaf, the assailant had entered the airport police station with a knife, where one visitor who was present was immediately taken to safety.
He was then shot in the leg and taken to hospital. The suspect is reported to be a 29-year-old man from The Hague
A police spokesman said the incident is not believed to be terror related and it is being investigated further.
