Seriously? Driver hit with speeding fine when broken down car was on back of a tow truck

A woman has been fined for speeding – even though her broken down car was on the back of tow truck at the time of the alleged offence. Sonia Mirambell complained to police in Spain when she worked out the fine coincided with the dates her vehicle was being repaired. But the stunned motorist was told: "Speed cameras never lie." When Sonia asked for evidence she was given a photo showing her car on top of the breakdown truck – which was doing 51mph in a 43mph speed zone. The picture was taken in September but Sonia didn't receive the fine until last week – leaving her just one day to appeal. She was told she had received the fine because the recovery truck was from Andorra and hers was the only vehicle with a Spanish numberplate.
