Australian fan fumbles half time chance at $250 000 during Cairns Taipans match against Sydney Kings. THE half court shot is understandably one of the most difficult in all of basketball, but this one NBL fan’s attempt was just embarrassing. During halftime of the Cairns Taipans’ round nine clash against the Sydney Kings, one lucky fan had the chance to shoot a half-court shot to win a supposed $250,000. The woman, Sally, stepped up to plate and launched arguably the worst half-court shot attempt of all time. Granted, it seems that she didn’t manage to get full control of the ball before her attempt, and she’s more than aware of her botched attempt as soon as the ball was released, but it didn’t stop FOX Sports commentator Matt Russell from making a comment.
