Lucky girl narrowly escapes falling ceiling in elevator in China

A six-year-old girl had a narrow escape from two falling elevator ceiling panels when she stepped out of the elevator in Mianyang city of southwest China's Sichuan Province. The girl was riding in the elevator alone on Wednesday when the accident occurred while her grandfather was on his way to park his bicycle. The girl's grandfather surnamed Hu hurried back to the elevator after hearing the falling noise and learnt that his granddaughter had cried her way back home. Hu recalled his granddaughter's face turned white with fear, muttering that she dared not ride in the elevator again. The property management company of the residential compound were soon informed and acknowledged how the accident happened through surveillance video installed in elevator. According to the elevator maintenance company, the ceiling panels may have become loosened or broken when other residents in the building were transferring furniture using the elevator. The elevator has now been repaired
