What has been deemed an epic failure several times in other countries as well as several US Cities "Universal Basic Income" has now reached Canada's most profitable region. The government of Ontario is now willing to pay poor people $2,500 a month just so they can afford what the local government deems basic necessities. This applies to people who may already have a job and just don't make enough according to the government. In times past American cities tried this and realized that this ended up keeping people from even attempting to better their lives, as well as lead to drug abuse and other addictions such as alcohol, but Ontario feels as if they may make it work. What do you think about paying taxes so others can receive free money?
