A luxury yacht docked at the Yacht Haven Grande in the U.S. Virgin Islands went up in flames on Tuesday afternoon. It is not clear how the yacht, christened "Positive Energy," originally caught fire, but the flames were so severe that emergency personnel could do little more than watch while the pleasure boat burned to nothing more than a shell.
"Earlier today, a fire occurred on a vessel at The Yacht Haven Grande Marina," said Yacht Haven Manager Charlie Irons in a statement provided to The Virgin Islands Consortium. "All parties are believed to be safe with no injuries reported. The marina crew and security team responded immediately alongside emergency services. Due to the nature of the fire, it could not be extinguished."
