Portland Community College Community Relations cuck Abe Proctor says "whiteness history month" "rose out of a conversation that happened interally at PCC after the events in Ferguson, Missouri." Planning committee member Tanya Pluth says they want to accomplish "dialgue, raising awareness, creating a shared concept." Proctor goes on to say this is a "conversation that has to happen if we, as a nation, are going to live up to the ideals expressed in our founding documents. A lot of white people, the majority of this country, go through life not having a lot of things happen to them. People don't follow white people around the store when they go shopping. White people don't get pulled over when driving a car in a nice neighborhood... And a lot of white folks go through life not even thinking about these things that confront people of color every day."
