This crash, which saw a driver plough into the side of Rolls-Royce, may end up costing a lot more than you'd expect. As the footage shows the luxury car was hit from the side and span around in the middle of the traffic junction, with the smash caught on CCTV. But the damage has left Vladislav Kantemirov with a huge repair bill of more than £58,000 which he has to pay in order to avoid bankruptcy and jail. He admits was at fault for failing to stop when he crashed into the side of the expensive luxury car, a crash that wrote off his his soviet-made car.The Rolls-Royce Phantom only needed a side door and wing mirror fixed but the repair bill was still five million rubles - equivalent to £58,000.Mr Kantemirov has been asked to foot the bill, despite his monthly salary only being 44,000 rubles (about £500).Businessman Alexander Artisov - who was in the Phantom - is an oligarch and a member of the local government, according to reports. It is unclear whether it is Artisov’s factory - which officially owns the car - or the businessman’s insurance company who are now asking for Kantemirov to pay.A court-ordered letter was sent to him, and he claims had little choice other than to sell a kidney in order to cover the costs. Some Good Samaritans are trying to help raise funds to pay the repair bill, after reports said that Artisov was also behind on his alimony payments to his ex-wife.
