Former Marine Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermy, known as “Gunny†to his many fans, has appeared in more than 60 movies, hosted an award-winning TV show for the past nine years and now says Hollywood has “blackballed†him for being a “conservative.â€
Ermy made the charge during a recent interview with Fox 411, the news network’s entertainment portal.
Despite voting for President Obama in 2008, Ermy believes he has been passed over by Hollywood because of his views.
Ermy stressed, “I’m an Independent, but I said something bad about the president. I had something unsavory to say about the president’s administration, and even though I did vote for him the first time around, I was blackballed,†Ermy said to Fox.
The typically jovial Ermy continued his rant about being excluded, “Do you realize I have not done a movie in five to six years? Why? Because I was totally blackballed by the… liberals in Hollywood,†he added.
