On June, 22, 2016 at approximately 2:15 am, Cst. Kyle Van De Sype was on his way home after a hard day of fighting crime in Winnipegosis, when he observed a starving skunk with a Tim Horton's cup stuck on its head. Out of concern for this hapless critter, he called in his back-up: Cst. Catlin Lang. The two members pondered their options and formulated a detailed rescue plan. After implementing the high-risk “tarp & trap” manoeuver, the cup was removed and the skunk was set free with the ability to eat again. No officers were sprayed during this incident.
