Austin Police Confirm No Link Between Two Downtown Shootings | News.com.au Two separate shootings occurred in downtown Austin, Texas, in the early hours of July 31, leaving one person dead and four wounded, police said. One shooting took place on Sixth Street, a popular bar area, where police said a woman believed to be in her 20s was killed and several were injured. Another took place several blocks away at the 800 block of Trinity Street, where one person was shot.
