The short clip begins after the officer already had the thug in handcuffs and asked him if he could search his pocket. The suspect simply stated, “It’s my phone,” as the officer began to feel the contents in his pocket. Apparently, the thug panicked and attempted to flee. Thankfully, the officer was well-prepared and immediately jumped on the criminal and took control of the situation.
For whatever reason, the man who recorded the incident didn’t feel the need to help the struggling officer. He continued recording the entire incident anyways. Apparently, a video for social media was more important to him than the life of a cop. The bystander wouldn’t like it very much if the roles were reversed and the cop was filming a life and death struggle while offering no assistance.
After several seconds of the officer fighting the aggressive thug, he was finally able to grab his radio and call a “416” to nearby officers for help. Although it’s clear the criminal got an epic dose of instant justice from the sole cop, there’s no doubt the officer was relieved a few seconds later when the other officers arrived on the scene to promptly control the problem.
