A kind-hearted state trooper rescued a bald eagle who flew into the windscreen of a jeep before crashing to the ground.
Julio Velez, a trooper with Florida Highway Patrol, saw the bird lying on the highway after it was hit by the Jeep Cherokee on Turnpike in Osceola County at about 7.30am on Tuesday.
He carefully approached the stunned eagle, and picked it up in his bare arms, before sitting it in the back of his patrol car while he waited for wildlife officials to arrive.
