On Monday French officials began resettling some 6,500 refugees who were "evicted this week from the sprawling "Jungle" camp." The refugees have been relocated to 450 sites across France, including a 16th-century castle. The chateau in the Loire region will house "up to 150 displaced migrants until next year." President Francois Hollande, who is facing "political pressure during an election year, announced he would demolish the squalid settlement near to the English Channel port of Calais." Now authorities are scrambling to find alternate locations to house the displaced refugees.
