When two traffic police officers spotted an illegally parked car on a street in Qingzhou city in east China’s Shandong Province recently, they probably anticipated a routine encounter with an apologetic driver. But when asked to show his license, the motorist suddenly revved the car’s engine and accelerated into one of the officers. The car then sped through the streets for about one kilometer, with the officer grimly clinging to the bonnet. Finally the driver fled after the officer fell from the vehicle. Efforts to capture the fleeing driver continue.
