Saturday evening on Justice, fomer New York City Mayor Rudy W. Giuliani reacted to FBI Director James B. Comey sending a letter to Congress, notifying them of the discovery of further emails pertinent to the probe into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server.
Giuliani, who prior to being elected mayor was the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said he knows Comey very well: "[he] worked for me for three years--I trained him--I had great confidence in him."
"I was shocked, back in July," Giuliani said of Comey's recommendation against charges for Clinton, "he laid out almost a prosecutorial memo and then came to a conclusion that he shouldn't come to--that the Justice Department should--that she shouldn't be indicted."
"That's not his job," he said, adding that Friday's letter to Congress, "underscore[s] our complaint against his decision originally, which is [that] he didn't do an investigation."
Giuiliani said he was not sure what information the FBI now has, or what processes are going on behind the scenes, but repeated his suspicions against Clinton and her alleged pay-for-play incidents.
"This is a RICO statute--Clinton, Inc.," he said, calling her role as secretary of state and the possible connections to Clinton Foundation projects "a racketeering enterprise."
"Whatever caused this [announcement] is something very serious," he said.
