What started as an argument and fight in a parking lot ended with one man behind bars, charged with attempted murder for running over his brother.
Residents at Palms West Apartments in West Palm Beach witnessed the entire incident and are in shock.
According to police, a cell phone video shows Elmer Jacinto Gonzalez, 44, speeding backward and running over his own brother, Rudy Gonzalez, 42.
The impact sent the victim into a parked car.
Witnesses said it began as a misunderstanding.
The two brothers were driving through the parking lot when another car backed out of a parking space. Words were exchanged and an argument turned into a fight between Elmer Gonzalez and the driver of another car. Elmer's brother Rudy ran to his car and tried to run down the driver, but instead hit his brother, police said.
No one else was hurt.
Rudy Gonzalez is charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Elmer Gonzalez is in serious condition at St. Mary's Medical Center.
