BREAKING : Domestic Disturbance Call in Georgia Ends with One Officer Shot and Killed, One in Critical Condition

Americus police Chief Scott Mark says one of his officers died and a Georgia Southwestern College officer was critically wounded in a shooting Wednesday afternoon.



Mark says the shooting happened after the Americus officer was called to a domestic disturbance near the Georgia Southwestern campus.



The campus officer went as backup, Mark said. He did not name either officer.



A suspect opened fire and hit both officers, Mark said.



He identified the shooter as Minguell Kennedy Lembrick,



Mark said Lembrick is still on the loose and may still be near campus.



Kennedy is wanted on felony warrants, and he's armed and dangerous, Mark said.
