OAKLAND — One person was rescued from a house fire in Oakland near Lake Merritt Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to a fire at 6:18 a.m. burning a two-story Victorian building in the 400 block of East 19th Street, fire officials said.
Fire crews were able to rescue to trapped occupant and knock down the fire by 6:27 a.m.
Firefighters did not find any other victims when they completed a primary search of the building.
The rescued occupant is now receiving medical attention.
No further information was immediately available.
