A road that provides access to Panorama in a rural part of Brazil was flooded after heavy rain caused a river to overflow onto the main road.
Locals set up a system to get people back and forth to Panorama, but unfortunately that system failed and a man was swept away by the raging river.
Michel Júnior Pereira de Souza, 24, jumped in to help rescue the family that was in trouble, but unfortunately he did not survive.
Major Cláudio Falcão, from the press office of the Military Fire Brigade, said that all the people on the boat were rescued alive, but Michel was not found after jumping in the water.
