A man claims he was assaulted after a chef at an Indian restaurant threw chilli powder in his face during a family meal.
David Evans was at the Prince of Bengal restaurant on Saturday night when the incident took place.
The 46-year-old was out for dinner with his wife Michelle when they were asked by a waiter if they were enjoying their curry.
The couple said they told the waiter their meal was “tough and rubbery” and he passed the complaint onto the head chef.
Michelle said chilli powder was then thrown into her husband’s eyes and he was taken to hospital.
