But traffic cop Travis Smaka found himself swimming in the stuff when a passing beer truck lost its load and drenched him in beer during a traffic stop on I-95 in Las Vegas.
Dashcam footage taken from inside his patrol car shows the moment 1,000 pounds of beer came hurtling towards him in cans and bottles from the overturned truck as he stood peering in to the car he'd stopped.
Seconds earlier, he asked the motorists: 'You guys had anything to drink tonight?'
