Sickening mass brawl at fight event after man leaps into ring

A mass brawl kicked off at a mixed martial arts event after a spectator stormed the ring and attacked one of the competitors.

Two men were left in hospital after the brutal incident in the Black-E Centre in Liverpool's Chinatown yesterday evening, but no arrests were made.

Dramatic footage shows enraged spectators using metal barrier stands as weapons and a man being kicked in the head during the brutal clash.

The melee erupted in the arena after one man, wearing a dark t-shirt, jumped into the ring and started punching one of the fighters.

Clips filmed by fight fans on a balcony at the venue, show the man sprinting across the canvas just as a referee was halting the fight.

It is not clear who the attacker is, but he appears to be standing outside the ropes in one of the ring's corners - suggesting he could have been trainer.
