The six-year-old boy got his left hand stuck in the machine while playing unattended.
In the footage, crowds of people can be seen watching the rescue mission take place.
Firefighters tried to use an iron bar to try and widen the gap of the escalator and release the boy's hand.
However it didn't work.
They the used a hydraulic spreader to carry out the rescue.
Some 20 minutes later, the boy's hand was finally free.
He was taken to hospital where doctors found that he had fractured his hand.
Incidents on escalators in China are a common occurrence.
In January this year, horrifying footage emerged showing an elderly man in China tumbling down a moving escalator for one minute until he is eventually rescued.
