This is the horrific aftermath of a bus crash which killed 44 passengers when the vehicle plunged 250 metres off a mountain road into a gorge. The bus carrying 46 passengers swerved into the Tons river near Chaupal, Himachal Pradesh, earlier today (Wednesday). According to reports the conductor and one passenger miraculously survived after they jumped off the bus before it plunged down the mountainside. Officials said the private hire bus was travelling from Vikasnagar to Tiuni on an 121-kilometre route when it crashed. According to the conductor, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the bus nose-dived towards the river, local sources said.
