Iraqi Army soldiers found a drone carrying a GoPro camera belonging to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in al-Tuwaymeen village, in the Tal Abtah district on Tuesday.
The GoPro captured footage of a member of the self-proclaimed Islamic State launching the drone, followed by aerial shots as it crossed the barriers dividing self-proclaimed IS from the Iraqi People's Mobilisation Unit (PMU), before the device crash lands.
The drone was found in Tuwaymin village, which is located approximately 80km (49.7 miles) southwest from Mosul. The drone was solely used for observational purposes and did not carry any form of explosives.
